Neighbourhood Plan

The Parish Council recently consulted all residents of Glapthorn, and other public agencies, and invited feedback on the Draft Neighbourhood Plan.  This was a formal consultation under the guidelines stated in Neighbourhood Planning (General) Regulations 2012, Part 5 – Pre-submission consultation and publicity, regulation 14.

The consultation period ENDED on 13th October 2017.

The journey so far ….

On  the 24th June 2016 East Northamptonshire Council (ENC) designated the Civil Parish of Glapthorn as a Neighbourhood Area, under the Neighbourhood Planning (General) Regulations 2012 – Part 2(5)

The Glapthorn Neighbourhood Planning Group was formed, structured as a Parish Council Advisory Committee, and embarked on the development of a Neighbourhood Plan.

A Draft Plan has now been prepared, building on the results of the extensive informal consultations and engagement undertaken to date. The major elements to the consultation process so far have been:

  • Community Conversations involving face to face interviews – August 2016
  • Community Consultation by newsletters and a questionnaire – December 2016
  • A call-for-sites from landowners – January 2017
  • Community dialogue through various meetings and two exhibition days – May 2017
