The Southwick & Glapthorn Village Show

The 54th Southwick and Glapthorn Village Show was held at Southwick Village Hall on Saturday 15th July 2017.

This year’s show was held in Southwick Village Hall and the doors opened at 2.30 pm for people to view the exhibits on display and refreshments were served. At 3.45 pm Rosemary Coates, local artist and church warden presented the trophies and money prizes. Thomas Freer, on behalf of the show committee presented Rosemary with a bouquet of flowers.

It was a very successful show with the number of entries up on previous years. The school children from Glapthorn had painted their favourite animals and the judge had a very difficult time choosing the winners as the standard was so high.

It was also good to see more children from the two villages entering this year, with some very good Garden on a Plate designs and animals made out of vegetables and fruit.
